Boat trips

A boat trip / "gulet".

A must do is to book a boat trip - either private or shared. Spend the day on the boat with amazing lunches and sea swimming.

A gullet is a traditional design of a two-masted or three-masted wooden sailing vessel (the most common design has two masts)  Today, this type of vessel, varying in size from 14 to 35 metres, is popular for tourist charters. For considerations of crew economy, diesel power is now almost universally used and many are not properly rigged for sailing. Make a Gulet trip one of the highlights of your holiday. The trips usually involve a tour of beaches, as well as  swimming diving and snorkelling in the superb swimming waters.  A Turkish lunch, prepared by the friendly crew, is  included in the price.

The boats are of varying sizes, and most can be chartered for groups. a trip to the harbour just before 10.00, will allow you to find a boat with some spaces, but the trips are very popular, so at the height of the season it is a good idea, nevertheless, to book on a boat of your choice a couple of days in advance (or even earlier if you are a larger group, or want to book a charter for a specific day).

You will need to go to the harbour to book in the evening, once the boats return from their day trip, from about 17.30 (so maybe before or after your evening meal).

Or try a Sunset Cruises, - a glorious sunset, followed by a lovely meal under a canopy of stars – amazing!

We recommend booking well in advance.
